$1,600,000.00 SETTLEMENT FOR POLISH WORKER

     Supreme Court in Brooklyn awarded $1,600,000.00 of compensation to Mr. Marek Psusinski - a Polish construction worker injured in an accident at the construction site. In May 2003, Mr. Psusinski was working on a ladder and doing stucco when he fell off a ladder and sustained serious injuries to his right arm and elbow. Mr. Psusinski underwent two major surgeries on his elbow.

   Denis Guerin on behalf of Mr. Psusinski commenced a lawsuit against the owner and general contractor. Both defendants claimed that there was no danger at the construction site and that Mr. Psusinski, working as an independent contractor was solely responsible for his own accident. Denis Guerin and Thomas Miller were ableto prove that there were serious violations of safety and labor laws. Summary Judgement Motion was granted in plaintiff's favor.

   Mr. Psusinski won $1,600,000.00 on jury verdict after ten days of trial.

$3,000,000.00 AWARDED IN CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENT

     An Irish construction worker, Mark Hunter, receives a $3,000,000.00 settlement for injuries he sustained when he fell off a scaffold while at work. In May 2002 Mr. Hunter was working at 1920-1932 Broadway. While doing framing for pouring of concrete, he fell off the scaffold and sustained serious injuries to his back and multiple fractures to his leg. He underwent many surgeries and intensive physical therapy. Mr. Hunter was represented by Denis Guerin, and in June 2007 his case was settled at a mediation fir the amount of $3,000,000.00.

Joseph G. Kearney - Donegal - was working at a construction site in Pelham on December 8, 1988. While standing on the scaffold and plastering one of the planks broke and scaffold collapsed causing Joe to fall to the ground. As a result of this accident he sustained two fractures to his spine. In January 1995, Joe was awarded $1,300,000.00 settlement.

Barry Broderick- Tyrone - sustained fractures of the right leg and pelvis when he fell off a scaffold while working at the construction site in Manhattan on January 24, 1992. The case settled on June 3, 1997 for $550,000.00
